five plus sensotel, willisau (switzerland) 2005

exhibition,“five+ sensotel “ - hotel design for the future at the foroom.willisau, Feb 24th, 2005 – May 24th, 2005

a (travelling) exhibition, conceived by yasmine mahmoudieh, with the subject ‘new design for hotels of the future’, which focuses on the aspect of sensuous experience. because our well-being is significantly affected by our surrounding atmosphere, the design is defined by sensuous perception. within the exhibition every sense is expressed in a conceptual and sensual-abstract way, each in a different room.
the name five+ sensotel, conceived by the designer, describes the agenda:
the intention is to change the hotel suite from a mere overnight accommodation towards a unique space of sensuous perception, a place for personal development and experiences.

the design of the suite and standard room is defined through sensuous experience. sensitized by the preliminary “sense rooms”, the visitor subsequently enters the suite i.e. standard room which can now be experienced through all five senses. light, sound and scent are the main elements through which the visitor can create a personalised surrounding atmosphere.
especially the role of the bathroom is developing away from the plain sanitary facility towards a more integrated wellness and recreation area.
