renovation of the hotel of arne jacobsen.

client: radisson sas hotels

the idea was to create a unique design hotel combining the architecture of the world-known designer arne jacobsen, who built the hotel in the 1950's with the modern comfort and the functionality of a contemporary hotel.

throughout the interior design we used some of the characteristic shapes and design elements of arne jacobsen, such as horizontal stripes of maple wood that visually enhance the size of the 5 star hotel guestrooms. the kidney shape of the 1950's was our central theme and used in several different appli-cations, i.e. lighting behind the bed, oval-shaped contrasting colour in the carpet and sandblasted lighting elements in the cabinet-mirror.

in the bathrooms we integrated small glass mosaics in horizontally placed shades of colours to have a continuous design concept.
